Yeah, so, I was browsing DA tonight, looking for some inspiration, my wells having been dry for the better part of a week since I finished a big piece for a class and I have to say, I came across quite a bit of art that I found, disturbing, to say the least. . .

For one, what is w/the INSANE amount of Total Drama Island (TDI) fan art I'm seeing? The show sux. Cartoon network sux. Hands down, period, end of story. Why is that show still on and why are people still obsessing over it? And why were they obsessing over it in the first place? It's a cheap take on the Survivor reality show w/crappy low budget animation, no real plot line and hardly any character development, not to mention all the kids on there are high school stereotypes.

Now the insane amount of TDI fan art was one thing, but another that I found even more disturbing was the "Inflation" fan art. Now, I have nothing against big girls, I am one, I'm a size 12/14, sometimes a 16 depending on the brand, but I cannot for the life of me understand what's so fascinating about drawing a picture of a disgustingly disproportionate female in little to no clothing, and not even a curvy, BBW female, but a disgusting, morbidly obese, multiple jiggling chins female. And for another, I didn't see ANY "Inflation" art of any MEN!!!!

Another thing I found to be even more disturbing than the inflation art was the inflation fan art. . . I never wanted nor had any desire to see Sakura, Kagome, or any other female anime character blown up to 500 lbs!!!!

And as if that's not bad enough, I saw an incredibly disturbing amount of PREGNANT fan art!!!! I get it, I have friends who've been pregnant, "babies are a gift from god, blah blah blah, pregnancy is a beautiful thing, blah blab blah" but I'm sorry, I've never seen anything "beautiful" about gaining 60 pounds, 4 pant sizes, and 3 cup sizes!!!! And I don't need to see people's Teen Titan, TDI, Family Guy or any other popular cartoon characters knocked up and naked or barely clothed w/there normal not-pregnant body proportions and a disgustingly distended stomach!!!!!! There's nothing attractive about Raven wearing a purple string bikini that barely covers her nipples w/a belly like the Octomom!!!!!

Now, as if that ain't bad enough, I have to put it out there. This. Is. Not. MYSPACE. All you attention seeking myspace whores need to go back to myspace. There is absolutely NOTHING artistic about you laying in front of the mirror hanging on the back of your closet door w/your legs spread and a big pink dildo sticking out of your ho-ha!!!! Furthermore, there's nothing attractive about a grainy webcam photo of you bent over your bed w/everything spread leaving nothing to the imagination!!!!

I happen to like nudes, the human body is very sexy and beautiful. Hell, I'm forced to draw nude models several times a week for my university classes but sitting on your toilet w/your panties around your ankles and your fist shoved up inside you is NOT artistic, it's PORN!!! Plain and simple. You want attention, go over to adultfriendfinder.com or any other whoring website, this is not the place for it!!!!

Ugh, all I was doing was surfing DA, looking for inspiration and all I got was a sudden urge to take a long hot shower and scour my eyes out!!!! Where are the admins!?!?! Why aren't they enforcing the rules they set up!?!?! You'll remove a deviation for improper categorization but have no problem w/a poorly lit digital photograph of a girl straddling a guy's dick that's been run thru various photoshop filters to make it "artistic"!?!?!? WTF!?!?!?!

I'll admit, I've reported deviations before but as of yet, I haven't seen any of them removed, I don't even know if these people were warned and I have to say, as a serious artist, I'm insulted that deviantart would let itself even be remotely associated w/the dregs of myspace whoredom. Where are the admins? Whose doing their jobs? Why even bother if you're going to let anyone post anything they want? And what about the children on this site. I know a good deal of my watchers are under the age of 18 and I also know a good deal of the afore mentioned "art" does not contain any sort of content filter. I checked, I signed out and viewed the deviations, no problem, if I can do that, whose to say there's not a 13 or 14 year old being confronted by these exact same images b/c they dared to run a search on the keyword "mirror"?
